PERSONALITY: ZEX is too friendly. He adores all things ugly and beautiful, and is a collector. But he won’t try to collect people or things here, because he understands that there are more important things to do. He’s smart, and he has great experience with all manners of things. See history for more information. It’s difficult for me to describe his personality because he has so much of it, see. He flirts, he’s good at manipulation...there’s so much! And yet he can be oblivious to some incredibly obvious things.

BACKGROUND: ZEX is a VUX, one of a race of tentacled creatures that usually gross humans out. And they think humans are ugly. Except that ZEX loves humans.

I don’t know much of ZEX’s early life. He was a Captain during the first war against the Ur-Quan, and quickly rose in the ranks due to his amazing genius ability. He created several VUX starship tactics, and if not for his military genius, the VUX would most likely be extinct. He basically made them into a strong fighting force, despite their slow and cumbersome ships.

However. During the war, ZEX expressed a desire for humans and other hideous beasts. The uptight VUX society couldn’t stand that – couldn’t stand one of their own loving such ugly creatures. After the war, when ZEX was no longer needed, he was exiled/sent to Alpha Cerenkov with other VUX loyal to him.

He lived there in peace, adding to his menagerie, until Captain Zelnick stopped by looking to get his hands on ZEX’s Shofixti maidens. ZEX agreed to hand them over in exchange for a mysterious Beast that he’d only heard of.

Zelnick finally found it, brought it back, and ZEX revealed his treachery. He wasn’t going to hand the Shofixti maidens over – he was going to add Zelnick to his collection! But the Beast (ZEX’s Beauty) escaped and killed him.

Now ZEX wakes up here.

TIMELINE: After he dies. Or moments before he dies. He might wind up remembering pain in the future.

DREAM: "Oh, Sub-commander." ZEX waved a tentacle at Sub-commander DAX. "I would not dream of risking ourselves like that! We have come too far, and if a beast is too dangerous, I will simply turn it loose."

"You have been careless before. Sir." DAX said dryly, trying to get his point across. He had read the additional data on the Beast. It was said to be incredibly dangerous, according to Thraddash reports.

"If my human Captain can bring it across the universe without getting himself killed, then we can hold it." ZEX said, cheerful.

He ignored the glances his crewmembers gave him. They were used to his informal chats on the bridge, but putting them at risk? This was an issue in which it would have been better to side with the Sub-commander.

But before anyone could speak, the comm rang.

"It's the Captain!" ZEX exclaimed, and the screen flickered on.

ZEX took a moment to admire his precious human before they got down to business and small talk.

That was the last conversation they had before the Beast was transferred over.

EDENSPHERE NAME: Wiggly. Another character in another RP calls ZEX wiggly-san. I figure this is appropriate, due to his appearance.
